Are millions of dollars worth of missing gold from the Confederacy buried in Florida?
Treasure hunters have speculated about the possibility since the end of the American Civil War. Legends abound among historians and in fiction. Here are a few of the possibilities:
1. Around $35,000 was seized by the Union army near Gainesville in June of 1865.
2. Gold pieces were found in eastern Jackson County.
3. Buried on the plantation of David Levy Yulee in Archer.
